It seems likely that this was made by collector. Collection includes supplies of all the beads used and examples of the red cloth. Lines were drawn on the hessian to help position the beads. The waistcoat may have been inspired by those worn by some of the Oglala Lakota who visited London in 1925-26 (DOC).
