- Long description
- Skin shirt decorated with panels of beadwork on front and back and long bands of beadwork over shoulders and on sleeves. Beaded panels and bands worked in lane stitch on skin. Beadwork in light and dark blue, white, red, translucent green, orange, translucent and opaque yellow. Beaded areas are edged with ermine tails; there are also two ?eagle feathers on each sleeve. The garment is fastened by means of thongs under the arms and down the sides. The neck is edged with red cloth. The lower edge of the garment is fringed and the bottoms of the sleeves are turned up and fringed.

The band of Ogala Sioux attended Bertram Mills Circus. The circus opened in London at Olympia on Monday 21 December 1925 and ended on Saturday 23 January 1926. According to Turvey the band left for Germany on 24 January 1926. [MJD 18/12/2014]
