Birch bark water bucket, 'matush'.
Long description
Birch bark water bucket, 'matush'. The bucket is round in shape but with straight sides (made by a curving a strip of birch bark and stitching it together at the join to form a tubular shape). It has a flat base of birch bark and a wooden handle which forms a loop over the top of the bucket. [E.S-R 'DCF 2004-2006 What's Upstairs?' 10/12/2004]
