Long description
Frame for an anklung, a musical instrument consisting of hollow bamboo tubes suspended in a frame and rattled to provide musical accompaniment for dances etc. The frame consists of two vertical supports [1997.35.5 .1 and .2] and two horizontal bars [1997.35.5 .3 and .4]. One of the horizontal bars [1997.35.5 .4] has 28 identical metal hooks screwed into the underside. This instrument is complete, and consists of 28 sets of bamboo tubes. [CW 21 1 98]
