Long description
Rasp consisting of a carved stick [.1] and a sheep's bone [.2]. Rasp as used by some katsinas, e.g. by KU'NI KATSINAN, representing Havasupai Indians, who appeared at First Mesa during the `Little K'awot'o' on March 15, 1913. The female katsina knelt or squatted on the ground and played, resting the stick on a large gourd. The bone is called K'ALA, = shoulder blade; the stick, of TSIKU wood, is called K'ALA P'E, = shoulder blade stick. The bone is from a sheep. Made by 'Agajo, Cornclan, 1913. [?LMM 1991 1]
