Description
Blue plastic record that is played on the plastic wind-up musical box [2009.46.51.1] and is part of a total of five plastic records [2009.46.51.2-.6] which play different tunes.
Long description
Plastic wind-up musical box [2009.46.51.1] with five plastic records [2006.46.51.2-.6] which play different tunes. the musical box is made by the toy manufacturer Fisher-Price and is in the form of a record player. The top of the box is made from cream coloured plastic and is inscribed 'Fisher-Price Music Box Record Player' and has a square yellow plastic on/off button, yellow plastic turn table and playing arm. The base of the music box is made from red plastic and has a yellow plastic knob which is inscribed 'turn' to wind up the mechanism. The sides of the base of the music box have been decorated with sticker printed with flowers, birds and musical instruments. On one side of the music box is a yellow plastic handle and a slot to store the five records in. There are five plastic records in orange, aqua, green, purple and blue plastic each plays a different tune. The tune which they play is inscribed on each individual record and are: record 1 [orange] 'Jack and Jill', record 2 [aqua] 'twinkle twinkle little star', record 3 [purple] oh where has my little dog gone, record 4 [green] camptown races, record 5 [blue] edelweiss.
