- Long description
- Blackbird call whistle [2009.46.56 .1] in original box [.2] with lid [2009.46.56 .3]. Part of a set entitled 'Flights of Fancy'. The box is made from grey paper and has a picture of a blackbird printed on the lid. The whistle inside is made from a carved piece of wood, still bearing bark on the exterior. There are printed instructions explaining how to use the whistle to good effect on the inside of the lid. The inside of the box is lined with shredded bits of brown paper. [FC 21/05/2010]

1932.88.1083Cartridge shaped spring loaded candle holder with reflector. Silver metal cylindrical body/candle holder. Silver metal disk would slide over the candle opening when closed. The reflector, which is connected via hinges to the body and the disc, would fold down over the candle opening and the front of the candlestick. At the top of the (open) reflector are two bent metal pins which fold inwards. Wax candle is present and does not allow this object to be closed.
