Description
One of a pair of morris dancer's bell pads. For other bell pad, see 1895.45.10.1.
Long description
Pair of morris dancer's bell pads. One pad [.2] has 18 bells the other [.1] has 20 bells. The brass stamped bells are attached to four vertical red textile strips. The strips are sewn to long red textile ties. The top, bottom and centre of each vertical strip has a fabric rosette. The rosettes are made of blue patterned cotton, cream coloured silk/ribbon textile or red silk textile. The vertical strips are tied across the centre with a piece of string to keep them aligned. The pads are mounted on card. [MJD 14/10/2014]
