Long description
Earth crucible used in lost wax casting to melt metal to make bells. The crucible consists of a rounded fragment, blackened on one side, which has been broken unevenly around the edges. One side is imprinted with concentric circles, left by bullet cases used as scrap metal, with a flattened section which may have formed part of the base. [AFS [OPS move] 2/9/2019]
