Long description
Ear pendant comprising six ornamentally carved plates of turtle-shell connected by a string of trade beads and decorated with cowrie shells. Each plate is carved into a pointed lenticular shape, with a large loop at the top and a small circular perforation in the middle. A string of white, red and one blue bead is threaded through the perforations. Five of the plates have a cowrie shell attached to the loop. There is a piece of plant fibre tying four of the plates together. [JMC 28/6/2019]
