- Long description
- A pair of woven shoe bands [.1 - .2]. The two bands are identical: The main part of the band is a length of woven wool, 1507 mm long, woven along its length with a design of three different geometric motifs arranged in an A, B, A, C pattern, in red on a white background on one face, and white on red on the other face. The long edges have a border in white, red, green, yellow and blue and the short edges are reinforced with rectangular pieces of red felt. At each end is a narrow plaited strip of red and white wool, one 1200 mm long and terminating in a large tassel, the other 335 mm long and terminating in a small tassel. Each tassel consists of red, white, yellow, green and blue wool. For the other in the pair see [2018.267.2 .1]. [JMC 27/3/2019]
