- Long description
- Lacrosse stick formed of a wooden frame and netting of rawhide or sinew. The wooden frame comprises a long cylindrical handle and a head which has been bent by steaming into a curve of flattened section. The net has been formed by twisting and tying strips of rawhide or sinew, and lacing them through perforations in the wood. The outer surface of the wooden head has been painted with alternating designs: three flowers with a central red dot and six black petals, and three diagonal red lines flanked on both sides by a series of red dots. There are four areas of painted decoration on the handle, each comprising a thin red band between two thin black bands. [JMC 22/2/2019]
