- Description
- Beaded hat, consisting of a dark blue or black textile beret with four curved beaded bands which stand up from the top, and a beaded band across the front.
- Long description
- Beaded hat, similar to that worn by chiefs in the 1957 in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Northern Zambia. It consists of four curved bands of beadwork consisting of white zig-zag patterns, outlined in black, and surrounded by red. Two of these bands have blue beads along the edges, and two have green beads. Each of these bands run across the top of the head and stand upright when on the head. There is also a band of beadwork consisting of lozenge shapes in black, white and red, outlined in green, red and black, which is sewn across the front of the hat, and would sit over the forehead.
