Spear with worked obsidian blade, socketed onto a wooden shaft and bound with string and resin. [JMC [OPS move] 22/8/2018]
Long description
Spear with worked obsidian blade and slender wooden shaft. The obsidian has been set into an oval-sectioned wooden socket which is jointed onto the top of the shaft. The obsidian blade is held in place by a string binding which has been painted in a pattern of red and white reticulating lozenges. The join of the shaft and socket is bound with string coated in resin, painted with red and white lozenges and decorated with strung coix seeds. [JMC [OPS move] 22/8/2018] /2018]
