Long description
Finger woven belt with red, blue and green chevron pattern on a black background. One end terminates into five beaded and tasselled strands, each composed of two black woven threads bound together with black, white, orange and red cotton forming a striped pattern. Each strand has a tassel at the midpoint and the end, with two beads before the final tassel. The final tassel and beads are missing from one of the strands. The section where the woven belt begins to form the tassel strands is decorated with eight white ?bakelite buttons forming a triangle, and three mother of pearl rectangles each with two notches at either end. The other belt terminal is decorated with ?bakelite buttons and cowrie shells forming diamond shapes. Several of the buttons are broken or missing. [AFS [OPS move] 8/1/2019]
