- Long description
- One of a pair of children’s moccasins. The moccasin is soft-soled, formed of one piece of animal hide, and is stitched along the right side and up the heel. The upper is folded over around the foot opening and the edge is scalloped. A separate tongue, also with a rounded, scalloped edge, is stitched in place. The hide thong lace is threaded through perforations in the upper and has been tied in a bow. The moccasin is decorated with two cross-shaped designs of blue and white beads, from each end of which a line of red beads extends. This is the right moccasin, for the left see [2017.103.4 .1].
