Description
Composite bow section. [ASh [OPS move] 13/2/2018]
Long description
Composite bow section, most likely that of a Persian bow. The section consists of a length of the bow arm as well the tip. The tip has been cut so that the side of the section can be seen, whereas the full section at the flat end of the bow shows several layers of wood, animal horn and animal sinew. The bow has been backed with animal sinew and lacquered with patterns in black and red. There are two square sections stored with the bow which expose the layer of wood underneath.
