- Bow, made from wood, which has been stained and bent into a semicircular shape. The grip is strengthened with animal sinew. The attached string is made from twisted plant fibre, which has been looped over either end of the bow. Local repair present. [ASh [OPS move] 6/2/2018]

It seems probable that all of Holland's collections came to the OUMNH via George Rolleston, see Rolleston papers Ashmolean Museum GR/A/1 Holland letters [AP 26/09/2012]
There is a short hand-written note in the George Rolleston archive that mentions the delivery of bows and arrows from Magellan Straits to the University Museum in July 1873. See copy in the RDF. [AS 07/03/2012]
