George Rolleston went to see Thomas Hutchinson's Peruvian collections in 1874, with a view to purchasing some of it [see Ashmolean Museum Dept of Antiquities, Rolleston papers GR/A/1 Rolleston correspondence. It is possible therefore that this item came from his collection [AP 11/10/2012]
