Description
White metal mantle holder for use with brass oil lamp [1986.32.1 .1]. (No mantle was found with the object.) [MOBB [OPS move] 20/6/2017]
Long description
Circular, narrowing ring, with expanded bottom edge and inwardly expanding top edge. A metal wire arch projects over the ring, and is anchored on either side of the exterior of the ring. At the top of the arch the wire is bent to form a rounded 'M' shape, from which a mantle (no longer present) would be suspended over the burner of the lamp. Blackened on the interior.
