Description
One of a pair of cast brass stirrups. Oval tread, rectangular hanger and plaited leather straps. For the other in the pair see [1918.9.28.1].
Long description
One of a pair of cast brass stirrups. It has an oval, dished tread, which is decorated with four cut out triangles and with oblique incised lines on the rim, and circular-sectioned side pieces which curve up into an arch. At the top is an ornate rectangular hanger, decorated with engraved circles and crescents. The stirrup is attached to a large metal ring by long plaited leather straps.
