- Long description
- Amulet, four textile badges [.1- .4], two textile scapulars [.5- .6], a textile label [.7], and a paper Sacred Heart and cross [.8- .9], in an envelope. The four textile badges [.1- .4] are all identical, they are oval in shape with a serrated edge. There is a cross with a Sacred Heart in the centre with the following inscription: "MONTMARTRE JE SUIS A VOUS SAUVEZ MOI IN HOC SIGNO VINCES". The first textile scapular or badge [.5] is oval shaped, pointed at each end with a pink ribbon loop for suspension , with three layers of textile decreasing in size stitched onto one and other, all with a serrated edge. The middle textile has a green embroidered border which frames the top textile layer which has red cotton thread stitched in a zigzag design, there is an image of the Sacred Heart and the following inscription: "Arrête! Le Cœur de Jèsus est là! QUE VOTRE RÈGNE ARRIVE! 100 jours d'indulgences (Pie ix 14 Juin 1877) PARIS". The second textile scapular or badge [.6] is oval shaped, with a white textile patch stitched onto red felt both with a serrated edge and a loop for suspension. There is an image of the Sacred Heart with the following inscription: ""Arrête! Le Cœur de Jèsus est là! QUE VOTRE RÈGNE ARRIVE!". The textile label [.7] would have been stitched onto something else as there are four perforation marks. It is rectangular and has the following printed in black ink; an image of the Sacred Heart and the inscription: "Arrête! Le Cœur de Jesus est avec nous". The paper Sacred Heart [.8] has a metallic paint on one side. The paper cross [.9] has been painted on one side a royal blue colour with a gold double border. [ACA 20/08/2012]
