- Paper amulet, found folded up in a leather bag [1985.52.2536 .1]. Printed with Arabic inscriptions in black text on the front of the sheet. For the other associated paper amulets see the records 1985.52.2536 .1 - .9. [ASh [OPS move] 3/2/2017]
- Long description
- Amulet, square leather bag [.1] with a cotton ribbon for suspension, containing 9 pieces of paper [.2-.9], 8 have Arabic inscriptions on them. The pieces of paper were found folded up inside the leather bag [.1]. [.2-.3, and .5] have Arabic inscriptions printed in black ink on them, and [.4] takes the form of a book with pages with Arabic text printed in black ink on them. [.6-.7] are two thin rectangular pieces of paper with Arabic text and images printed in purple ink on them. [.8] is a rectangular piece of paper with an Arabic inscription hand-written in black ink on it. [.9] is an envelope which would have contained the pieces of paper with Arabic ?prayers on them. The leather bag [.1] has a cotton textile ribbon, pale in colour with different coloured stripes, stitched to either side for suspension. The leather bag has a triangular shaped top edge with another strip of cotton ribbon stitched to it. [RB 07/08/2012]
