Long description
Amulet, a wooden box [.1] and removable lid [.2] containing a relic of the Holy Thorn [.3] [from the Crown of Thorns] and a red wax seal [.4]. The interior of the box is stained pink. The Holy Thorn relic mounted on a cross shaped piece of paper, with gold coloured foil metal decorations. This is in turn mounted on a red coloured textile, with a paper backing. There is also a red wax seal with a crest impressed on it, and with cotton strings attached to it. It does not seem likely that this is the original box for the relic. [RB 18/04/2012]
