- Long description
- Food container of bamboo. The container is like a tiffin tin in style - it is made up of four stacking sections of bamboo. The base section [.1] is the deepest and has sides which support the other sections [.2 - .4] and the lid [.5] and handle [.6]. The sections are carved on the outside with designs of trees and blossom. The sections are also inscribed. The order in which the sections stack can be identified by the carving on the outside of the sections. The inside of each section has been painted or lacquered in black. The lid [.5] is circular and flat. A detachable handle [.6] fixes into two holes cut in the side supports of the base section [.1]. [MdeA 6/7/2005]
