1952.5.6Lamellaphone Backrest carved from the solid of the board which is a squared block of wood. Bar and bridge of iron, both raised from the surface; the bar is held in place by a piece of copper wire. The bridge is a C-shaped piece of iron bent back to the side of the backrest. Has black hair or head-dress that tapers to a peak at the top of the head. Incised pattern on the midriff. Snake curled around the circular base, with mouth attached to the figure's hand.
