- Description
- Fire fan of red-brown plant material. [LKG 01/09/2009]
- Long description
- Fire fan of red-brown plant material. The fan is woven loosely so that these are visible gaps between the interwoven strips. The fan has a curving top edge, and at the base of the fan the fibres used to weave the fan have been gathered so that their loose ends form the handle. These loose ends have been bound with plant fibre in six places along the main body of the handle, and six further small loops of plant fibre are apparent at the base of the fan head. Below the last of the plant fibre bindings on the handle, the lengths of palm leaf [?] have been left untied and fan out freely. [LKG 01/09/2009]
