- Long description
- Incense-burner, circular base [.1] and vase-shaped upper portion [.2], with metal tube inside [.3]. [.1 .& .2] decorated with floral & dragon motif. [ZM 25/2/2005] Incense-burner in three parts; broken at neck between bottom and flaring upper portion. Metal tube rests inside of the upper portion of the incense-burner. Entire object is decorated with a floral and dragon motif. These image are incised, hammered out, and also appear as cutwork images soldered to the base and neck. The incised images appear to be filled with a white pigment to create a contrast between the metal and the image itself. The lip of the tapering upper portion is cut in jagged pattern. The entire piece is dented and badly misshapen. [ZM 25/2/2005]
