- Lid to the box for a pair of sake bottles. See 1996.17.175 .3 for the box used with this lid. Made from wood with two small wooden blocks adhered to the base. There is a row of Japanese text painted onto the surface of the box; on the top and the bottom of the lid with a red stamped makers mark seal beneath the text. Part of boxed set 1996.17.175 .1 - .8. - Long description
- The bottles are stored in a wooden box with handwritten characters appearing on the inside and outside of the lid. The box is strapped with a black cotton ribbon (hime). Each bottle is wrapped in its own white cotton textile bag and then covered with another printed white cotton textile.
