- Pigeon whistle made by Nathaniel Mann. The whistle is made from recycled materials and comprises of a 35 mm film pot with two pieces of wooden lolly stick glued horizontally to one side of the pot with a protruding piece of 12" record perforated with a hole between the two sticks. The lolly sticks are inscribed 'SUPER STAR' in black ink. The other side of the pot has a single slot cut out of it with pieces of white flymo putty adhered to the inside of the pot at either end of the slot. [FB 27/01/2015]

As part of the Sound and Music's Composer-in-Residence programme, Nathaniel Mann spent 18 months 'Embedded at the Pitt Rivers Museum and Oxford Contemporary Music. As part of his residency Nathaniel researched the pigeon whistles in the PRM collections and made his own pigeon whistle from recycled materials. He tried his whistle on pigeons and flew them in notable places in the UK.
