Long description

Knife [.2] with straight single edged blade and antler handle. With a curved sheath [.1] of decorated reindeer antler. The knife handle of reindeer antler has been decorated with incised bands of linear design and stars. The top of the handle is perforated with a hole. The sheath is made from two pieces of antler, pinned together at one end with three iron pins. It is decorated with incised patterns of triangles on both sides and two reindeer figures, one on each side. On one side of the bottom of the sheath is incised 'Den 12 2 7'. A piece of leather has been bound around the mouth and stitched along the back with string. This has some incised decoration and a leather carrying loop. [FB 07/11/2014]
