- Long description
- Blouse, huipil, with two-faced brocade patterning and lace neck and armholes. White cotton huipil with round neck, made from three pieces of woven fabric, stitched together with white cotton thread. Decorated all over in two-faced brocade in dense geometric patterns: the top half in purple cotton (positive side), and the lower half in black cotton (negative side). The neck and armholes are edged with white cotton lace and red and green ribbon in stripes, stitched on with green cotton. A sort of ribbon rosette, in green, red, yellow, white and pink ribbon is stitched just below the neck on both the front and the back of the huipil, and on the tops of the shoulders. [FB 05/03/2014]
