- Long description
- Blouse huipil, with purple hand embroidery. White cotton huipil with round neck, made from two pieces of woven cotton fabric, stitched together with white cotton thread. Decorated with hand embroidery of floral motifs in a semicircle around the neck and in small rectangular areas around the armholes, using bright purple thread only. The designs are embroidered in satin stitch, and the background filled in with a knotted or looping stitch – possibly French knots. [FB 05/03/2014]
