The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2013 as: “Inu i Hachiman daiboatsu Nikko-san goshu honzon”, Amulet for a person born in the year of dog or wild boar to be protected by Hachiman daibosatsu, from Nikko [FB 08/01/2014]
