The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2013 as: “Gion Kitamuki Ebisu daijin hanjo shinpu”, Amulet for prosperity from Kitamuki (north-facing) Ebisu in Yasaka shrine in Gion, Kyoto. [FB 21/08/2013]
