The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2013 as: (In margin) “Rakuto Otowa-yama Kiyomizu-dera”, Kiyomizu-dera temple of Otowa-yama in Rakuto (the east side of River Kamo), Kyoto. (Top line, from right to left) “Dai 55 Kichi”, No. 55 lucky. [MJD 22/02/2013]
