The inscription on this object was transcribed and translated by Fusa McLynn who volunteered at the Museum in 2013 as: “Kokuhei chusha Futarasan jinja betsugu, Takinoo jinnja Kodane ishi o-mamori”, Amulet for fertility from Kodane ishi (literally means ‘child rock’) at Takinoo shrine which belongs to Futaraisan shrine. (Centre of the red seal) “Shinji”, divine symbol. (Red seal on the reverse side) “Shamusho in”, Seal from the shrine office. [MJD 20/02/2013]
