Description
Embroidered apron. [FB 12/09/2012]
Long description
Embroidered apron. The apron is made from cotton textile dyed indigo. The apron has been stiffened with pant fibre? and decorated on one side. The upper half is decorated with red cotton textile embroidered with floral designs in squares and rectangular sections. The floral design is embroidered in blue, yellow, green and white silk yarn in cross stitch, chain stitch and satin stitch. The lower half of the apron is decorated with wax resist geometric and curvilinear design in white and indigo blue. This section of the apron is in poor condition. On either side of the apron are ties made from white hemp/ramie cloth covered with black and green cotton yarn. [FB 12/09/2012]
