- Long description
- Amulet, triangular shaped paper souvenir flag printed with a picture of Our Lady of Hal with painted details in colour, attached to a wooden pole. There are three printed inscriptions around the border of the flag, each in two languages - French and Dutch. The first reads: 'Cette banniere a touche l'image miraculeuse de N.-D. de Hal.' [This banner has touched the miraculous image of Our Lady of Hal]. The second reads: 'Ici repose les balles de N.-D. de Hal.' And the third reads: 'L'image miraculeuse de la Sainte-Vierge Marie repose dans la ville de Hal depuis 1276.' The flag is printed with an image in black and then painted with details in colour. The image depicts Our Lady of Hal in the top left hand corner with cherub figures beneath her. Moving left to right, there is a tree, a house, a sun, and a crowd of people carrying the ?'miraculous image' of Our Lady of Hal. [RB 30/08/2012]
