- Amulet, a rectangular sealed paper packet containing dust collected from the tomb of Saint Francis of Assisi. On one side of the packet there has been a stamp of authenticity impressed into the paper. The packet is printed with black ink on one side with an image of two ?priests kneeling holding a scroll which has the following Latin inscription: "Benedicat tibi Dominus, et custodiat te. Ostendat faciem suam tibi, et misereatur tui. Convertat vultum suum ad te, et det tibi pacem. Dominus benedicat te N. T. N, Amen." [The Lord bless thee, and keep thee. Let him shew his face to thee, and be gracious unto thee. Turn his countenance to thee, and give thee peace. Lord bless you, N. T. N Amen.]. The other side has the following French inscription printed in black ink: "Poussière recueillie sur le tombeau, où les Sacrèes dépouilles du Seraphique Patriarche Saint François furent, et restèrent ensevelies depuis l'an 1230 jusqu' en 1818, èpoque de leur bienheureuse découverte; et dans lequel elles reposent encore présentement, en la basilique patriarcale et chapelle papale, élevée en l'honneur de ce très-glorieux saint, et possédée par les RR. PP. Mineurs Conventuels dans la ville d'Assise. Fr. ALPHONSE MARIE PICCINI Custode Fr. ANTOINE DAMEN, dèlègué." [Dust collected on the tomb, where the sacred remains of St. Francis Seraphic Patriarch were, and remained buried since the year 1230 until 1818, when their happy discovery, and in which they are currently still based in the Patriarchal Basilica and Chapel papal erected in honor of this most glorious saint, and owned by the RR.
