Long description
Amulet, ?neck ornament comprised of a strip of animal skin with hair, attached by a metal loop to a cylindrical pendant covered with woven fibre. The strip of animal skin tapers at one end. The thicker end is knotted around a copper metal loop, and in this loop is attached to a rectangular iron clasp. This is connected to a loop at the end of the cylindrical pendant made of the woven fibre that covers the whole pendant. Around the pendant there are three bands of metal; copper bands at either end and a iron band in the centre. At either end of the pendant red fibres are visible, but there is nothing obvious suggesting that this is a fragment of ?electric cable. [RB 31/07/2012]
