Lid for the amulet box 1985.52.2328 .2. Made from iron with an arched upper edge and a flat lower edge. The box contains a painted figure and paper inscribed with the word "relique". [ASh [OPS move] 1/2/2017]
Long description
Amulet, an arch-shaped relic box [.2], containing painted figures and paper inscribed with the word "relique", with a detachable lid [.1]. There is a layer of glass covering the relics. There are three ceramic figures, one is white and could be the ?Virgin Mary, the centre figure is painted with a red cloak and red spots on the body which could be depicting injuries, this the figure could be ?Jesus. The other figure has not been painted. At the top there is a paper inscribed in black ink with "relique" and also at the bottom there is the word "RELIQUE". [ACA 26/07/2012]
