- Long description
- Amulet, oval textile relic box [.1] containing a ?pottery plaque with head in profile on it and saints' relics, and a detachable lid [.2]. In the centre of the relic box [.1] there is a white ?pottery plaque with a head in profile on it. This is surrounded by decorative scrolls of orange coloured paper. In these scrolls there would have been saints' relic, however they appear to be missing. There are three strips of paper with saints' names written on them in black ink. One reads 'St. Augustine'. The interior of both the box and lid are covered in a pink coloured textile. The exterior is covered in a brocade textile. The textile has worn badly in places, and one of the strips of paper seems to be in the wrong place. [RB 12/07/2012]
