Long description
Amulet, double-sided pendant, painted with religious figures on either side, mounted in silver with a loop for suspension. On one side there is a figure of the ?Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus, with a layer of glass covering the painting. On the other side there is a painting representing the Instruments of the Passion beneath a layer of glass. There is an image of the face of Christ, a ladder, the Crown of Thorns, three nails, the Holy Lance and the Holy Sponge set on a reed, all painted on a gold background. [ACA 10/07/2012]
