Long description
Amulet, a cylindrical portable 'chapel' [.1- .2] containing a figure of St Peter [.3], carved and incised in bone. The 'chapel' is in two parts: an inner cylinder [.1] which has a painted red interior, which fits inside an outer cylinder [.2] which has red pigment in a ring around the top and bottom, "ST. PIERRE." is incised at the top. The figure [.3] has a painted red base and is loose however it would have originally been glued to the bottom of the inner cylinder. [ACA 03/05/2012]
