- Long description
- Amulet, a wooden curved arch shaped portable 'chapel', which contains a figure of the Virgin Mary, and has a metal loop for suspension. The figure is carved from ?bone, mounted on a textile, and surrounded by gold coloured foil metal. The outside of the wooden 'chapel' has traces of red and yellow pigment on it which suggests that it was once painted. [RB 24/04/2012]
