- Embroidered front apron. The apron is made from indigo dyed cotton textile calandered on the front. A panel in the centre of the apron has been embroidered with strips of white metal wrapped onto a grid of back stitches in geometric designs. Cotton ties have been stitched at two corners of the apron. [FB 08/06/2012]

Calandering makes the indigo dyed cloth shiny and is prized by the Miao. It is done by folding the material and beating it with a wooden mallet on a flay stone. [FB 01/06/2012]
