- Long description
- Embroidered bag with animal and geometric embroidered decoration. The bag is made from woven white cotton textile and has been embroidered with red wool and animal figures and geometric shapes in pink, blue, yellow and green wool on both sides. The handle is not embroidered. There is twisted cotton textile fringing at the bottom of the bag at either side. [FB 11/01/2012]

1898.8.21Leather writing case. Brown leather, portfolio style, opening like a book, with leather ties along open edge. The exterior is decorated front and back with geometric patterns, and with cactus-like motifs on the front of the case, appliquéd in differing shades of leather. The inside of the case has leather pouches on each side, one of which has a tear that has been repaired at some point,and is lined with a red, white and blue plaid cotton. The entire case is in fairly poor condition; the leather is quite worn in some areas, and is badly damaged, possibly by insects, along the spine. [LP 8/11/2000]1898.8.21
