Long description
Basket made with split wood woven in improvised stake and strand technique. The basket is goblet shaped with foot. The wood has been dyed green, red and yellow. The split wood pedestal has been woven with yellow synthetic string and bound around the centre with metal wire. String has been bound around the rim and foot of the basket. [FC 20/09/2011]

Notes from the donor: Bought at Christmas bazar at United Reform Church, Summertown £1 Made by victims of landmine explosions. [FC 20/09/2011]

Notes from the donor: Felicity Wood met her husband George Wood [1930 - 2000] when he [George] was General Manager for BP in Kuala Lumper [1980]. GVW later went on to be General Manager for BP's Indonesia office [Jakarta] and China office [Canton]. Most of the basket collected in the early 1980s sent back with household effects.
