Balanced twill woven basket made from glossy cane plant and reinforced with white and black plastic strips. The basket has been woven 3/3 twill. The white plastic has been twisted around the rim of the basket fro reinforcement. The basket is well worn. [FC 19/09/2011]

Research and responses

Notes from the donor: Felicity Wood met her husband George Wood [1930 - 2000] when he [George] was General Manager for BP in Kuala Lumper [1980]. GVW later went on to be General Manager for BP's Indonesia office [Jakarta] and China office [Canton]. Most of the basket collected in the early 1980s sent back with household effects.
